Before the walk, not after

Mist it on before the walk.

You stop at the door, shake the bottle, and mist the legs and belly before the leash goes on. It air dries on the walk. That is the whole routine.

  • The coat goes lightly damp, air dries on the walk, and leaves no greasy film
  • One hand, one bottle, misted at the door while you clip the leash
  • For dogs and cats headed into long grass, shaded yard edges and boarding rooms
  • 100ml bottle, 3.38 fl oz, with peppermint oil, clove eugenol and aloe extract

What it leaves on the coat

A Fine Mist, Not An Oil Slick

Hold the bottle six to eight inches out and mist until the coat is lightly damp. That is all it needs, and that is the whole application.

It goes on as a fine mist rather than a pour, so nothing pools in the coat and nothing runs down the legs. Work it through with your hand across the legs, the belly and behind the ears.

Then let the coat air dry all the way before your pet gets back on the couch. There is no oily residue once it is dry, and nothing transfers to your car seats.

Shake the bottle properly every single time. The oils separate when it sits on a shelf, and an unshaken bottle sprays unevenly.

Where this bottle earns its keep

  • The walk through long grass, where you mist the legs and belly at the door
  • The back yard in summer, short trips out several times a day
  • Boarding, daycare and the groomer, other people's dogs all in one room
  • Camping and the car, where a 100ml bottle fits in the park bag
  • A multi pet house, one bottle for the dogs and the cats

Why it lives by the door

Peppermint, clove and aloe

The repellents in the bottle are peppermint oil and eugenol from clove, with aloe extract so it is not drying the way an alcohol based spray is.

Grab it on the way out

No mixing, no gloves, no waiting around. Shake it, mist the legs and belly, clip the leash, and let the coat air dry on the way.

It smells like what is in it

There is no added fragrance. It smells of peppermint and clove because those are the ingredients, and the smell fades as the coat dries.

How to use it

1

Shake and mist

Shake the bottle properly, hold it six to eight inches from the coat, and mist until lightly damp. Keep it away from the eyes, nose and mouth.

2

Work it through

Run it through with your hand, concentrating on the legs, the belly and behind the ears. Those are the places that brush against grass first.

3

Let it dry

Air dry the coat all the way before your pet is back on the furniture. Reapply before outdoor time, or every few days through the season.

What you get, and how it ships

One bottle, labeled 100ml, 3.38 fl oz. This is the only product in the shop that ships from a US warehouse: orders leave in 1 to 3 business days and arrive 2 to 7 business days after that, fully tracked, free. You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind for any reason, you do not pay return shipping, and in most cases we do not ask for the product back. I run this store myself, so you are emailing a person.

Reviews

Honest answers

Will this get rid of the fleas my pet already has?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. This is a repellent you put on before the walk. It is not a treatment for an animal that already has fleas or ticks. If your pet has them right now, call your vet, get the treatment, finish it properly, and use this afterward for the walks.
Does it actually kill fleas and ticks?
We do not claim that it does. It is sold as a plant based repellent, not as a pesticide, and we have not tested our own bottles against one. There is no kill rate on this page because we have not measured one. Anything you read anywhere quoting a number for a spray like this is quoting a factory sheet, not a result. If we ever run a trial on our own bottles, the number goes here along with how we got it.
Is it safe for cats?
It is sold for cats as well as dogs, but cats process essential oils differently from dogs and react to them more often. Kittens, puppies, pregnant or nursing animals and any pet with a history of skin reactions are all in the same bracket. Do a small patch test on one spot, leave it a day, and check with your vet before you make it a routine.
Can I use it with the flea treatment my vet gave us?
Ask your vet. They know what your pet is already on, and that is not a call for us to make from a product page. This is meant to sit alongside what your vet prescribes, not to replace it.
How often can I use it?
Daily is fine for most dogs. Reapply before outdoor time, or every few days through flea and tick season. Back off right away if you see any redness or scratching at the spot you sprayed.
Will it stain the coat or my furniture?
No. It goes on as a fine mist and dries without an oily residue, so nothing transfers to the couch or the car seats. Let the coat dry all the way through before your pet gets back on the furniture anyway.
Some got in my pet's eye, or they licked it. What do I do?
Rinse the eye with clean water. If your pet swallowed any, or the irritation does not settle, call your vet. Do not wait it out. Keep the bottle out of reach between uses.
Why not just buy this cheaper on Amazon?
Go and look. There are plenty of peppermint and clove sprays there, some of them cheaper, and a lot of them promise on the front of the bottle that they kill fleas. We will not print that, because we have not measured it. What you get here instead is a US warehouse, an email that a person answers, and 30 days to get your money back without posting anything back. If the cheaper bottle suits you better, buy it.
How long does shipping really take?
This is the one product in the shop that ships from a US warehouse. Orders leave in 1 to 3 business days and arrive 2 to 7 business days after that, fully tracked, free, with the link sent by email. We ship to US addresses only for now. If you order this alongside anything else in the shop, the two arrive separately with their own tracking numbers, because everything else ships from our fulfillment partner overseas and takes about two weeks. That is expected, not a mistake.
What if it arrives damaged or leaking?
Email support@reliablegoods.net with your order number and a photo and we will sort it out. You have 30 days from the day it arrives to get your money back for any reason at all, damaged or not. You do not pay return shipping, and in most cases we do not ask for the product back.
