Lay it flat and fold it corner to corner.

Sit the long edge across the back of the neck, over the collar or under it, whichever sits flatter, then knot the two ends.

Slide two fingers under the knot to make sure it is not tight, then tuck the loose ends down so there is nothing dangling to chew.

S and L in every pattern. S is about 23 in (58 cm) along the long edge with 16 in (41 cm) sides, for smaller dogs and cats. L is about 29 in (73 cm) along the long edge with 20 in (50 cm) sides, for medium and larger dogs. The knot sets the fit, so there is some give either side. Not sure? Will it stay on?
Knotted over the collar, yes, through normal walks and zoomies. A dog that makes a project out of pulling things off with a back paw will eventually get it off, the same way they get a collar cover off. Tie it over the collar rather than on its own and it holds much better.
Is it really worth ten dollars for a piece of cotton?
That is a fair thing to ask. It is a square of printed cotton with a hem, and you are paying for the print you pick, free shipping and 30 days to change your mind.
