Does the LED work on black nails?

It helps and it is not magic. On light colored nails the quick is obvious. On very dark nails you see less, so take smaller cuts and go slowly. If every nail on your dog is jet black, buy these expecting a help rather than a solution.

Which size should I get?

10cm for cats, kittens, puppies and small breeds. 15cm for medium and large dogs, and for thick nails a smaller clipper struggles with. If you have both a cat and a big dog, get the 15cm. It manages small nails fine, but the 10cm will fight a thick one. Both sizes come in blue and pink, and the color changes nothing else.

What if I still cut too far?

What is the guard on the blade for?

It limits how far the blade travels. It is a mechanical stop, not a substitute for looking at the nail first. The light is what tells you where to stop.

The light seems dim or will not come on.

Check the switch is fully pressed, and that the battery tab in the handle, if there is one, has been pulled out. If it still does not light, that is a faulty unit. Email support@reliablegoods.net and we will replace it or refund you.
